When is the best surf?
The fall season from beginning of september to the end of october/beginning of november has the most consistent surf. The spring season from May till the end of June fallows close behind with consistent surf.
Highest water temperatures are during the fall season (october-november) with temperatures ranging from 12- 14°C.
The spring season (may-june) sees temperature from 6-9°C.
We use Gul Vortex Steamer w attached hood 6/5/4mm wetsuits, 7mm Gul booties and 5mm Gul gloves. All this equipment has been tried and tested for Icelandic conditions and all our wetsuits are replaced after two seasons.
Can I rent a surfboard?
Arctic surfers has a range of rentalboards for their customers. Lonboards, Minimals, Shortboards and fish shapes, however surfboard rental is not included in the price of the trip and has to be booked well in advanced.
Our trips are for the intermediate (meaning the “average” surfer) to expert surfer.
What kind of surfbreaks can I expect?
Iceland has all kinds of breaks, from beach breaks and mellow pointbreaks to heaving reff slabs.
